About our company

Our History

JIWEKEE AKIBA was born on January 21, 2024 in Goma, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, in a particularly difficult context marked by armed conflicts, political instability and a deep economic crisis.

Faced with the daily suffering of populations - displaced women, unemployed young people, ruined small traders, families without access to banks - a powerful idea emerged: to create a local, humane and accessible solution to restore hope and economic dignity.

This is how a group of young entrepreneurs and community leaders joined forces to launch JIWEKEE AKIBA, a local microfinance company, founded on the principles of solidarity, financial security and empowerment.

Since that day, we have continued to support those whom the system has forgotten :

  • by offering them savings services adapted to their reality.
  • by granting them solidarity microcredits to launch or strengthen their projects.
  • and providing them with personalized support to build a better future.

Today, JIWEKEE AKIBA is more than a microfinance institution: it is a symbol of economic resilience, renewed confidence and a future to be rebuilt, day after day, despite the war.
